At Company Kids we put the needs of your child first and maximize their every opportunity. We provide a safe, secure and happy environment, replicating all the comforts they enjoy at home. We provide excellent quality care and learning experiences to help build the solid foundations required for their next stages of learning and future life experiences.
We work in partnership with you the parent. We take time and care getting to know you and your child. We have an open door policy allowing you to spend time at the nursery and settle your child before you leave.
We nurture and care for all your child's needs. Our qualified staff will carefully plan and meet your child's daily care routine and update this as they grow.
We carefully plan and provide excellent learning experiences for your child which is in line with their appropriate level of development. We provide play based learning in a creative environment making it a fun, exciting and exhilarating experience for your child.
The environment is carefully created to ensure your child has bright and interesting spaces incorporating all of their needs to learn, play, eat and rest.
Company Kids is owned and managed by the founding director, Mrs Christen McDonnell. She has 10 years professional childcare experience and is a working mother of two.
Quality childcare is dependent on quality staff and Company Kids is committed to employing high quality staff who have the recognized qualifications and also a great aptitude for the job. We look for staff who are sensitive, kind, compassionate, patient, tolerant, energetic, imaginative, fun and who have a genuine enthusiasm and love for children.
We ensure that we follow the set standards when it comes to staffing our nursery.
- Company Kids at all times meets the staffing ration set by the 1989 Childcare Act:
One adult to three children under 2 years old.
One adult to four children 2 - 3 years old.
One adult to eight children 3 - 5 years old.
- All children have a key worker. The key worker helps settle your child into the nursery, supported by yourself. The key worker ensures your child has a familiar person, someone who takes a special interest in them.
- All our staff are fully qualified in child care and first aid. This is equivalent to NVQ level 2, NNEB or BTEC standard. Senior staff are qualified to NVQ level 3 and above. All our staff are fully vetted through the local authority and are police checked.
- We have a low staff turnover as we look after our staff, we provide excellent working conditions, with good working hours. We provide ongoing training needs making sure our staff reach their full potential.
- We hold regular staff meetings to share information, curriculum and activity planning and to make sure our staff feel supported and valued.
The sharing of food and refreshments play an important part in the social life of children, as well as reinforcing an understanding of healthy eating. The children eat together in small groups at tables with a member of staff. We encourage them to set tables with their own named place mats and clear away afterwards.
Company kids provides breakfast, lunch and tea, further healthy snacks are provided twice a day and water is available for children at all times. The milk we provide is whole pasteurized cow's milk.
Company Kids operates a fresh food policy and provide nutritional meals. We can cater for all your child's dietary needs, including allergies, dietary rules of religious groups and can provide to vegetarians/vegans.
For young babies on formula, we provide formula and bottles, we use a standard formula and use anti-colic bottles. If your baby has specific needs, we would ask you to provide this. We sterilize the bottles and make up your child's feeds as appropriate.
The menus are planned in advance and are available to parents. They can be found displayed in the reception area.
During their time with us, the safety and wellbeing of the children is paramount and we have developed the following policies and procedures to make sure this is followed at all times. Further information on all our policies and procedures required by OFSTED are held at the nursery and copies can be requested at any time.

One month fees are payable, in advance, on acceptance of the nursery place. This is held as a deposit, which will be refunded upon leaving, after the required two months notice has been completed.
Failure to take up an agreed place will result in the loss of the deposit. We do require that all nursery fees be paid by standing order on the 25th of the proceeding month.
Please note: there is no reduction in fees for absence due to holidays or sickness.
Once booked, your child's session cannot be swapped. We require two months notice, to finish at the end of a month of any changes to your child's schedule or termination of place.
The nursery closes for two weeks during the year over the Christmas period. Parents are not required to pay for these weeks as the monthly fee is calculated on a 50 week year. Any other holidays will be charged at normal attendance.
Arrival begins at 8.00 A.M. and Collection ends at 6.30 P. M.
Company Kids will charge £20.00 per 15 mins for any late pick-ups after 6.30 P.M.
Each child needs a changing bag with a clean set of clothes, including vest and socks. Please ensure that all bags, clothes, shoes, hats etc are clearly marked your child's name. It is up to the parent or carer to ensure they are in possession of all their child's belongings at the end of each day.
All dietary requirements whether preference, medical, or religious must be made clear to the nursery. We also require all emergency telephone numbers.
Children should NOT be brought to the nursery with any infectious illness i.e. conjunctivitis or any traces of vomiting or diarrhea OR when taking a course of antibiotics.
We cannot be held responsible for the administration of any medicines. If you require your child to be given any medicine, a medicine permissions form must be signed on every occasion.
